How it works

If you or someone you know is living with a disability, you can access government funding to pay for support services and improve your quality of life.

Funding to access disability services in Queensland is provided by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services (as traditional block funding) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The NDIS is a new funding scheme which is not yet available in all parts of Australia. When it is fully rolled out, the NDIS will eventually replace older disability funding schemes. Our YLYC Models of Support prepare you for the NDIS transition – by getting you used to choosing and managing your supports.

What funding and support can I get?

The level and type of funding and support you can access depends on the level and types of disability you have, and where you live. If you live in an NDIS area, you should check if you meet NDIS eligibility requirements.

If you are not living in an NDIS area or you don’t meet NDIS eligibility criteria, you should check if you can access other disability funding schemes.
